
Shanthallaya is a Hospice, an institution that takes care of the advanced terminally ill Cancer patients. It is neither a hospital nor a home, but is in fact both, offering the specialized care of a hospital together with the love of a home.
Hospice care is mainly focused on the basic principle that the person who suffers from a life limiting illness is still a living person with physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. Our aim is to address those needs and provide a supportive and safe environment.
Shanthallaya hospice is a non profit public Charitable trust, Registration Number 368/2007, registered under the Societies Registration Act of Tamil Nadu.
What are the aims of the Institution?
- To care for the advanced and terminally ill Cancer patients.
- To offer this care to all who need it, irrespective of community caste or creed.
- To give preference to the poor and needy
- To give this care totally free of cost.
