The Shanthallaya Hospice is a Non Profit Public Charitable Trust. The Managing Trustee is Dr. K. Govindaraj M.S., FAGE., Dip., in Laparoscopy (Germany), Dip., in M.I.S. (France) who is a Consultant Endoscopic, Laparoscopy & Laser Surgeon, Director of GVN Hospital & Cancer Cure Centre a 300 bedded Multi Specialty Hospital in Trichy. Who is also Secretary and Executive Committee member of various Associations in India and abroad. Dr. K. Govindaraj has also started a breast cancer foundation in the name of Dr. K. Shantha Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of his mother Dr. K. Shantha who died of breast cancer in 1995. He is assisted by Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Sasidharan – an executive trustee, Mr. R. Prabakar, Dr. V.D. Uma Shankar, Mr. A. Balasubramaniam, Rev.and Sr. Maria Kamalam who are trustees of Shanthallaya.

Shanthallaya functions in honorary association with Sisters of Cross of Chavanod, Tiruchirapalli and Trichy palliapve care association. The hospice also has an urban day care palliative center in Thillai Nagar Tiruchirapalli, in association with The Trichy Palliative Care Association.
